Elshad Nasirov has served as Vice President of SOCAR since 2005, overseeing international economic and energy affairs. A seasoned diplomat, he previously held key roles in Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Permanent Mission to the UN. Before Azerbaijan’s independence, he served in diplomatic positions at the USSR embassies in Afghanistan and India. A graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, he has also been Vice President of the Azerbaijan Football Federations Association (AFFA) since 2003.
