David Friedman was the United States ambassador to Israel from 2017 through 2021. He guided unprecedented diplomatic advancements, including moving the United States Embassy to Jerusalem and recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. He was a key player in the historic formation of the Abraham Accords, for which he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
